daniel zaitchik's picnic at hanging rock was first read at ars nova theatre in 2007. lincoln center theatre later hosted a workshop and staged reading. it will be further developed this summer at the 2009 national music theater conference at the eugene o'neill theater center.

daniel zaitchik's adaptation of the novel is in no way related to any other stage adaptation over seas. he holds the exclusive north american dramatic-musical rights to the novel.
